Consent to Publication of Your CV in the Public Catalogue
Contents10
1. What this consent covers
This page describes your consent to the publication of a de-identified card based on your CV in the public seafarer catalogue of Rynda Crewing. It is a separate consent: accepting the Terms of Use or reading the Privacy Policy does not give it.
Publication in the catalogue is optional. Without this consent your CV stays on the platform, verified employers and agencies can still find it in crew search, and applications and messages work as usual. The consent concerns only showing the card to every visitor of the website, including people who are not signed in, and to search engines.
2. Who is responsible
RYNDA GLOBAL FZCO, registration number DMCC203729, Unit RET-R5-172, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Contact about personal data: info@rynda.io.
3. How you give consent
You give consent in one of two ways:
- by ticking "I agree to publish my profile in the platform's open catalogue" when you register; the box is not ticked in advance, and you can register without it;
- with the "Publish" button in your account, in the security settings, under "Your CV in the open catalogue".
We record when and how each consent was given or withdrawn and which version of the text it relates to. Silence or inactivity is never treated as consent.
4. Purpose
To publish a de-identified card based on your CV so that employers, crewing agencies and other visitors, including people arriving from search engines, can find you by your professional details and contact you through the platform.
5. Where the card is published
- https://crewing.rynda.io/en/crew - the public seafarer catalogue, rank pages listing cards, and the cards themselves at addresses starting with https://crewing.rynda.io/en/crew/, together with the other language versions of the catalogue;
- https://crewing.rynda.io/ - the home page, where a short card linking to the full one may appear in the seafarer showcase.
Card addresses are listed in the sitemap, and the pages may be indexed by search engines.
6. What is published
Only the following details, and only those you have entered in your CV:
- General details: rank and department, cadet status, age in whole years, citizenship, city and country of residence, education institution (short name from the platform's directory), languages and level, Marlins test result.
- Sea service: total sea service and time in rank, number of contracts; for each record: vessel type, flag, rank, start and end dates, duration, deadweight and gross tonnage, main engine type, model and power, number of subordinates, and a mark showing that the record was confirmed by an employer on the platform.
- Documents: document type (certificates of competency and proficiency, seafarer's identity document, passport, visas, medical certificate and the type of medical examination), issue and expiry dates, and the number in masked form: only the end of the number is shown, no more than three characters, and short numbers are hidden completely; the type of your main certificate of competency and its number masked in the same way.
- Job preferences: desired ranks, expected salary in US dollars, availability, the date from which you are available, readiness to join at short notice, preferred contract length, preferred trading areas.
- Service information: the date your CV was last updated.
Not published: your name (including in the page address and in search engine markup), your photo (a generic picture for the rank is shown instead), telephone number, email address, messengers, emergency contact, exact date of birth, address other than the city and country, full document numbers, issuing authorities, images or copies of documents, vessel and company names, marital status, height, weight, workwear and footwear sizes, and the automatically generated CV summary.
7. Restrictions you can set
Unless you tell us otherwise, the details listed in section 6 may be viewed by anyone. You can ask us at any time to exclude particular details from publication: write to info@rynda.io from your account email and list them. If a particular field cannot technically be excluded from the card, we remove the card from publication entirely and tell you so. Details you have not entered or have removed from your CV are not shown.
8. When the card is not shown
Even with your consent, the card is not published while:
- you are under 18: your consent is recorded and the card appears on your 18th birthday, as your account shows;
- your CV is marked as not looking for work;
- you have requested deletion of your account or the account is blocked;
- your CV is not active on the platform, for example it has never been published, or your account has no name.
9. Duration and withdrawal
Your consent remains valid until you withdraw it or delete your account.
You can withdraw it at any time:
- in your account: in the security settings, under "Your CV in the open catalogue", with the "Remove from the catalogue" button. The card stops opening immediately, the page returns "not found" and is removed from the sitemap;
- by email to info@rynda.io, stating your name, contact details and the details whose publication should stop. The card is removed once we receive your request.
Links to a removed card in catalogue lists and on the home page are updated automatically, usually within a few minutes. Search engines update their own copies independently and not instantly.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of publication before it and does not affect your CV on the platform: employers still see it in crew search, and applications and messages keep working. You can give consent again with the "Publish" button in your account.
We cannot remove copies that third parties made from the website before withdrawal. You may contact them directly about such copies.
