1 What it covers

Advanced Training – Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations (STCW V/1-1) evidences advanced training for managing chemical tanker cargo operations. It is needed by masters, chief mates, chief and second engineers, and personnel with immediate responsibility for the relevant cargo operations. Validity: as issued; competence shown every 5 years.1–4

2 What it consists of

The standard of competence is set by table A-V/1-1-3 of the Code.1,2

Maintaining competence. Masters and officers continuing to serve on tankers show continued competence for this training at intervals not exceeding 5 years. There is no single international interval for ratings.3,4
