1 What it covers
Generic ECDIS Training (STCW A-II/1) evidences competence in ECDIS functions, operation and limitations. It is needed by deck officers using ECDIS; familiarisation with the installed type is recorded separately. Validity: as shown on the issued document.1–3
2 What it consists of
The standard of competence is set by tables A-II/1, A-II/2 of the Code.1–3
3 Validity and renewal
Document validity. The expiry date, if the issuing system sets one, is shown on the document itself. This reference does not calculate personal expiry dates.
Maintaining competence. There is no international renewal interval for this document.1–3
