Who needs it. Seafarers undergoing the relevant component of the medical examination.1,2
2 Validity and renewal
Document validity. The expiry date, if the issuing system sets one, is shown on the document itself. This reference does not calculate personal expiry dates.
Maximum period. A medical certificate is valid for no more than 6 years. The certificate may be issued for a shorter period.3
